What you need

If you pursue a sticker visa (through a Kazakh embassy/consulate), you will use the embassy-provided visa application form.
  • Financial proof: For the e-Visa, financial proof is not typically required, but you should be prepared to show sufficient funds if asked (examples: last 3 months bank statements or a letter from your bank). For sticker visa applications, you may be asked to show proof of funds.
  • Accommodation and return ticket: Provide evidence of where you will stay (hotel booking or host invitation) and proof of onward or return tickets.

  • Sticker visa — Business: Official name Visa (Sticker) — Business; Validity up to 1 year; Multiple entries commonly allowed; Max stay per entry up to 90 days; Approx fee USD 90–120; Local currency (approx): KZT 38,000–51,000.
  • Student visa: Official name Student visa; Validity up to the duration of study (often 1 year or longer); Multiple entries commonly allowed; Approx fee USD 130; Local currency (approx): KZT 55,000.
  • Work visa: Official name Work visa; Validity up to 1–2 years; Multiple entries commonly allowed; Approx fee USD 180; Local currency (approx): KZT 76,000.

How to apply online (e-Visa)

  • How to apply online: use the official vmp.gov.kz portal to apply for an e-Visa.

  • Steps:
  • 1) Create an account and log in.
  • 2) Choose the e-Visa category (Tourist or Business).

  • Approval arrival: You will receive an electronic visa document by email and it will also be accessible in your portal account; print the document and present it at border control with your passport.
  • Notes: Ensure passport validity and personal data match exactly on the e-Visa. If you cannot obtain an e-Visa, plan to pursue a sticker visa via a Kazakh embassy or consulate with traditional documents.
