How to apply online

  • Steps: 1) Create an account on the e-visa portal; 2) Choose visa type (Tourist or Business); 3) Complete applicant details; 4) Upload documents: scanned passport biographic page, passport photo, hotel booking or invitation letter, return ticket; 5) Pay visa fee (USD) and any platform service fee; 6) Submit application; 7) Receive e-visa approval by email (PDF) and print it to carry; 8) Present e-visa printout and passport at Gabon entry; 9) Entry points: Libreville International Airport (LBV) and other approved ports.
  • Fees: Tourist USD 60 + platform service fee around USD 15–20; Business USD 120 + platform service fee around USD 15–20. The portal will show the exact amount before payment.
  • Processing time: Standard 3–5 working days; expedited processing 1–2 working days (additional fee).
  • Approval arrives: Email with e-visa grant; no physical stamp required; carry printed copy.

Tips for United States travelers

  • Apply in advance: at least 14–21 days before travel; allow extra time for document issues.
  • Common rejection reasons for U.S. applicants specifically: Passport validity less than 6 months, data mismatch between passport and application, insufficient funds, missing or unreadable documents, incorrect photo, or inconsistent travel itinerary.
  • VFS/BLS vs direct embassy application: Gabon online e-visa uses the official portal; there is no VFS/BLS processing for e-visas. For non-online visa types, consult the Gabonese embassy/consulate; check the nearest mission for instructions.
