Guide last updated October 21, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry, with at least one blank page
  • Digital passport-size photo and scanned passport bio-data page, uploaded on the e-visa portal
  • Confirmed accommodation booking or invitation letter
  • Return/onward flight itinerary
  • Proof of sufficient funds for the stay
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate if arriving from or transiting a country with risk of transmission (commonly required for East/Southern Africa travel)
  • A valid email address and card for online fee payment

Visa types

  • Single-entry e-Visa — valid for a stay of up to 90 days, fee USD 50
  • Double-entry e-Visa — allows one re-entry within the validity period, fee USD 80
  • KAZA Univisa — covers Zambia and Zimbabwe (and day trips to Botswana's Kazungula border), valid 30 days, fee USD 50, useful for Victoria Falls itineraries spanning both countries

How to apply online

  • Visit the official portal evisa.zambiaimmigration.gov.zm and register an account
  • Complete the online form with passport, travel, and accommodation details
  • Upload the digital photo and passport scan
  • Pay the applicable fee online by debit/credit card
  • Receive the approved e-visa by email, typically within 3-5 business days
  • Print the e-visa approval and present it with your passport at the port of entry; the KAZA Univisa can also be obtained on arrival at participating border posts if not pre-applied online

Fees & processing time

  • Single-entry e-visa: USD 50
  • Double-entry e-visa: USD 80
  • KAZA Univisa (Zambia-Zimbabwe): USD 50
  • Standard processing time: 3-5 business days
  • No separate express fee is published; applying at least a week ahead avoids relying on last-minute approval
  • Total realistic budget: USD 50-90 depending on visa type

Tips for Pakistan travelers

  • Apply at least 7-10 days before travel to allow buffer time beyond the standard processing window
  • Use only the official evisa.zambiaimmigration.gov.zm portal to avoid third-party overcharging
  • If your itinerary includes Victoria Falls on both the Zambian and Zimbabwean sides, the KAZA Univisa is usually more cost-effective than two separate visas
  • Carry a printed copy of the e-visa approval, as border officers may ask for it alongside the passport
  • Check yellow fever certificate requirements carefully if connecting through other African countries en route
  • Zambia immigration can still request proof of funds and return tickets even with an approved e-visa, so keep these documents accessible
