Guide last updated October 20, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry
  • Digital passport-style photo, white background, uploaded during the online application
  • Confirmed round-trip flight itinerary
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking) for at least the first few nights
  • Proof of sufficient funds for the stay
  • Mandatory travel health insurance, typically bundled into the e-Visa fee
  • No in-person biometrics required for the e-Visa application itself

Visa types

  • Tourist e-Visa: multiple entry, 1-year validity, up to 90 days per visit, 180 days total per year
  • Business visa: single/multiple entry, requires an invitation from a Saudi-registered company, applied through the business e-visa portal
  • Umrah/Hajj visa: a separate dedicated system for religious pilgrimage, not covered by the standard tourist e-Visa
  • Family visit visa: sponsored by a resident relative, applied through the MOFA/Absher system

How to apply online

  • Create an account on the official MOFA Visa Platform
  • Complete the application, upload the passport bio page and photo, and provide flight and hotel details
  • Pay the e-Visa fee online, which includes mandatory medical/travel insurance
  • Approval is typically issued electronically within a few days and sent by email as a digital e-Visa linked to the passport number
  • No courier of the physical passport is required; the e-Visa is verified electronically at Saudi airports

Fees & processing time

  • E-Visa fee: approximately SAR 463 (about USD 123), inclusive of insurance
  • Standard processing time: 3-5 working days, often faster
  • No widely offered expedited/priority option; apply at least 1-2 weeks before travel to allow margin
  • Total estimated cost: USD 120-130 inclusive of insurance

Tips for Pakistan travelers

  • Apply well before travel dates, particularly during Hajj and Umrah season when processing volumes rise
  • Confirm the purpose of travel matches the correct visa category, since tourist e-Visas cannot be used for Umrah or Hajj
  • Common rejection reasons include mismatched passport/photo details or booking a hotel that does not match the stated itinerary
  • The multiple-entry validity makes the e-Visa useful for frequent business or family travel within the 1-year window
  • Overstaying the 90-day limit per visit carries fines and can bar future e-Visa eligibility
