What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry
  • Completed online application via e-visa.gov.uz, or the embassy's visa application form if applying in person
  • Digital passport-size photo (white background) uploaded with the online form
  • Scanned passport bio-data page
  • Hotel booking confirmation or invitation letter from an Uzbek host/company
  • Proof of sufficient funds (bank statement)
  • Confirmed return flight itinerary
  • Travel/medical insurance valid in Uzbekistan recommended

Visa types

  • Single-entry Tourist Visa — valid for a stay of up to 30 days, fee approx. USD 50
  • Double-entry Tourist Visa — for itineraries re-entering Uzbekistan once, fee approx. USD 75
  • Business Visa — requires an official invitation letter from a registered Uzbek company, similar fee band
  • Transit Visa — short validity for onward travel, issued when a confirmed onward ticket is shown

How to apply

  • Apply through the official e-visa.gov.uz portal by creating an account and uploading passport and photo scans
  • Pay the visa fee online by card through the portal's payment gateway
  • Wait for the e-visa approval letter, usually sent to the registered email
  • Alternatively, submit the paper application directly at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Islamabad with the same documents
  • Print the e-visa approval (or collect the passport with visa sticker from the embassy) before travel
  • Present the e-visa printout or visa sticker along with the passport at the port of entry

Fees & processing time

  • Single-entry tourist e-visa: approx. USD 50
  • Double-entry tourist e-visa: approx. USD 75
  • Embassy-issued visa fee (if applying in person): similar range, USD 50-80, plus possible service charge
  • Standard processing time: 3-7 business days for the e-visa; embassy processing can take 5-10 business days
  • No widely advertised express service; some agencies offer paid assistance for faster document preparation

Tips for Pakistan travelers

  • Apply at least 2 weeks before travel to allow for processing and any requests for additional documents
  • Double-check the e-visa.gov.uz portal is the correct official channel before paying — fraudulent third-party sites exist
  • Common rejection reasons: unclear purpose of visit, no hotel booking, or mismatched personal details between the form and passport
  • Keep a printed copy of the e-visa approval, as border officials may ask for it alongside the passport
  • Uzbekistan's registration rules require hotels to register foreign guests; keep all hotel receipts in case of a stay-length check on exit
  • Extensions are handled through the Uzbek Agency for External Migration; apply before the visa expires if you need more time
