Russia Visa for Pakistan Citizens 2026

Visa Required

Pakistani citizens need a Russian visa, either a classic sticker visa backed by an official invitation or tour voucher, or the unified e-visa for eligible entry points, with fees from USD 52.

Guide last updated October 20, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the visa expiry date, with at least 2 blank pages
  • An invitation: tourist voucher from a licensed Russian tour operator, business invitation from a Russian company, or private invitation registered with the Ministry of Internal Affairs
  • Completed online visa application form, printed and signed
  • One recent 3.5x4.5cm color photo on a white background
  • Travel health/medical insurance valid in Russia for the full stay, minimum USD 30,000 coverage
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or host registration)
  • No biometrics are required for either the classic visa or the e-visa

Visa types

  • Unified e-Visa: single entry, up to 16 days, for tourism, business, or humanitarian purposes, entry via designated checkpoints only
  • Tourist visa (sticker): single/double entry, up to 30 days, requires a tour voucher from a licensed operator
  • Business visa (sticker): single/multi-entry, up to 1 year validity with 90 days per visit, requires a company invitation
  • Private/Guest visa: single entry, up to 90 days, requires an invitation registered by the host with Russian migration authorities

How to apply

  • For the classic visa: submit the application and invitation at the Russian Embassy or Consulate in Islamabad or Karachi, or through an authorized visa agency
  • For the e-visa: apply online, upload a photo and passport scan, and pay the fee by card
  • E-visa decisions are issued electronically, with applications needing to be submitted at least 4 calendar days before intended travel
  • Classic visa decisions are communicated by the embassy or consulate; the passport is collected in person or via the agency
  • E-visa holders must still present an invitation or tour confirmation at the border on request

Fees & processing time

  • E-visa fee: USD 52, processing up to 4 working days
  • Classic tourist/business visa consular fee: approximately USD 160 for single entry, higher for multiple entry (roughly USD 200-270)
  • Standard classic visa processing: 10 working days; expedited service (3-4 working days) available for an added fee of roughly USD 50-80
  • Total estimated cost including a tour voucher or invitation fee: USD 60-250 depending on visa type

Tips for Pakistan travelers

  • The e-visa only covers 16 days and limited entry points; confirm your planned port of entry is on the eligible list before relying on it
  • Classic visa rejections are most often due to an invalid or unregistered invitation/voucher, or insufficient insurance coverage
  • Secure your invitation or tour voucher first, since the visa application cannot proceed without it
  • Processing can slow during peak summer and holiday periods; apply at least 3-4 weeks ahead for the classic visa
  • Extensions are rare and only granted for documented emergencies through local migration offices inside Russia
