Mexico Visa for Pakistan Citizens 2026

Visa Required

Pakistani citizens need a visa to enter Mexico — there is no e-visa route; apply through the Mexican Embassy in Islamabad with a consular fee of roughly USD 36, and allow 10-15 working days for processing.

Guide last updated October 20, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates, with at least 2 blank pages
  • Completed visa application form (available at the Mexican Embassy in Islamabad)
  • One recent passport-size photo, white background, 3.5cm x 4.5cm
  • Proof of sufficient funds (bank statements for the last 3-6 months)
  • Hotel reservation or invitation letter showing accommodation in Mexico
  • Round-trip flight itinerary
  • Proof of employment or business registration in Pakistan
  • Biometrics (fingerprints and photo) are collected in person at the embassy
  • Travel health insurance is recommended but not mandatory for most visa categories

Visa types

  • Tourist visa (Visitante sin permiso para realizar actividades remuneradas): single or multiple entry, valid up to 180 days per stay, fee around USD 36
  • Business visa: for meetings, conferences, negotiations; same application track as tourist, with an invitation letter from the Mexican host company
  • Transit visa: required if transiting through a Mexican airport without clearing immigration, unless you hold a valid US, Canadian, Schengen or UK visa, which generally exempts Pakistani transit passengers under Mexico's visa-waiver-by-possession rule

How to apply

  • Book an appointment through the Mexican Embassy in Islamabad's consular section
  • Submit the application form, passport, photo, and supporting documents in person
  • Pay the consular fee in cash or as instructed by the embassy
  • Attend a short interview and provide biometrics
  • Standard processing takes 10-15 working days; there is no expedited/express option at most Mexican missions
  • Approved visas are stamped directly into the passport, collected in person or via courier if arranged

Fees & processing time

  • Consular visa fee: approximately USD 36 (paid in local currency equivalent)
  • No separate outsourced service fee — applications are handled directly by the embassy
  • Total cost estimate: USD 40-60 including courier/photo costs
  • Standard processing: 10-15 working days
  • No official express service; build in extra time if travel dates are close

Tips for Pakistan travelers

  • Apply at least 4-6 weeks before travel since Mexico has no e-visa and processing can be slow
  • Common rejection reasons: insufficient funds, unclear purpose of travel, no proof of ties to Pakistan (job, property, family)
  • If you hold a valid US, UK, Canadian or Schengen visa, check whether you qualify for visa-free entry instead of applying separately
  • Apply directly through the embassy — Mexico does not use VFS or BLS outsourcing for Pakistani applicants
  • Extensions inside Mexico are possible through the National Immigration Institute (INM) but are not guaranteed and should not be assumed when planning your trip
