What you need

  • Two recent biometric photos, 35x45mm, white background
  • Travel medical insurance covering at least EUR 30,000 for the whole Schengen area
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or formal invitation)
  • Round-trip flight reservation
  • Bank statements for the last 3-6 months showing sufficient funds
  • Biometrics (fingerprints and photo) required at the visa application center
  • Employment letter, leave approval, or business registration documents

Visa types

  • Schengen Tourist (Type C) visa: single, double or multiple entry, valid for short stays up to 90 days within a 180-day period, fee EUR 80
  • Business visa: same category, requires an invitation letter from a German company, fee EUR 80
  • National (Type D) long-stay visa: for study, work or family reunification, requires separate documentation and longer processing

  • Book an appointment at the VFS Global visa application center for Germany in Islamabad, Karachi or Lahore
  • Submit the application form, passport, photos, insurance proof, financial documents and itinerary
  • Pay the visa fee (EUR 80) plus the VFS service fee in Pakistani rupees

  • Collect your passport with the visa decision from the VFS center or opt for courier delivery
