Bosnia And Herzegovina Visa for Pakistan Citizens 2026

Visa Required

Pakistani citizens need a short-stay visa for Bosnia and Herzegovina, applied for at the nearest Bosnian diplomatic mission; fee is about EUR 60, processing 10-15 working days.

Guide last updated October 19, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended departure date from Bosnia and Herzegovina, with at least 2 blank pages.
  • Completed and signed Bosnia and Herzegovina short-stay visa application form
  • Two recent passport-size photos (35mm x 45mm, white background, taken within the last 6 months)
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or invitation letter from a host, notarized if from a private individual)
  • Confirmed round-trip flight reservation
  • Bank statements for the last 6 months showing sufficient funds (generally around USD 50 per day of stay)
  • Travel medical insurance valid across Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider Schengen area, minimum coverage EUR 30,000
  • Biometrics (fingerprints and photo) are collected in person at the consulate or the nearest honorary consulate handling Bosnian visas
  • Employment letter/NOC from employer, or business registration documents if self-employed

Visa types

  • Type A (Airport Transit Visa): for passing through Bosnian airports only, single entry, fee around EUR 35
  • Type C (Short-stay Visa): Tourist/Business, valid up to 90 days within a 180-day period, single or multiple entry, fee around EUR 60
  • Type D (Long-stay/National Visa): for study, work or family reunification longer than 90 days, fee around EUR 60 plus residence permit fees paid locally after arrival

How to apply

  • Bosnia and Herzegovina has no resident embassy in Pakistan, so applications are routed through the nearest Bosnian diplomatic mission with jurisdiction over Pakistan (typically via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs portal at mvp.gov.ba to confirm the current responsible mission) or through an authorized visa facilitation partner.
  • Complete the online pre-application form referenced on mvp.gov.ba
  • Book an appointment at the relevant mission or honorary consulate
  • Submit the full document set in person along with the visa fee
  • Attend a short interview if requested
  • Visa decision is communicated by phone/email; passports are returned with the visa sticker affixed or via courier

Fees & processing time

  • Short-stay (Type C) visa fee: approximately EUR 60 (roughly PKR 18,000-19,000 at current rates)
  • Airport transit visa: approximately EUR 35
  • No separate VFS/BLS service fee is standard since applications go directly to the mission, though courier/facilitation partners may charge an additional PKR 3,000-5,000
  • Standard processing time: 10-15 working days
  • Expedited processing is not generally offered; build in extra time given the lack of a resident mission in Pakistan

Tips for Pakistan travelers

  • Apply at least 4-6 weeks in advance since Bosnia and Herzegovina has no embassy physically in Pakistan and documents may need to be couriered
  • Common rejection reasons: insufficient proof of funds, weak travel history, unclear purpose of visit, or unverifiable accommodation details
  • Ensure travel insurance explicitly lists Bosnia and Herzegovina and meets the EUR 30,000 minimum coverage requirement
  • Keep certified translations (English or Bosnian) of any Urdu-language documents such as bank statements
  • Extensions beyond 90 days are rarely granted; plan the trip length to match the visa validity exactly
