What you need

  • Passport validity: passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended stay in Kuwait.

  • Transit/Temporary Visit Visa: official name Transit/Temporary Visit; validity up to 7 days; single entry; approximate fee KD 5–15.

Application process

  • How to apply online (e-Visa/eTA): go to https://evisa.moi.gov.kw/; steps: create an account, select visa type, fill applicant details, upload passport scan and photo, provide travel details (accommodation and itinerary), pay the visa fee, submit; processing time typically 1–3 working days; approval arrives by email and the e-Visa is downloadable from your account and print required for travel.
  • Visa on arrival: not routinely guaranteed for Chinese passport holders; if available at specific ports, you would present passport, visa application, hotel/itinerary details, and pay visa fee at immigration in Kuwait; currencies accepted are local Kuwaiti Dinar; note that availability depends on port and policy at time of travel.
