Visa types

  • Visa on Arrival — single entry, valid for a stay of up to 30 days, extendable at a local police station inside Jordan
  • Jordan Pass visa waiver — bundles the visa fee with discounted entry to tourist sites for travellers staying at least 3 nights, must be purchased online before arrival
  • Business visa — for work-related travel, typically still obtainable on arrival for most nationalities but a formal invitation letter speeds up processing
  • Multiple-entry visas are available at a higher fee for travellers who need to exit and re-enter Jordan during their trip (for example, visiting Israel/Palestine via a land crossing)

  • Available at Queen Alia International Airport (Amman), Aqaba, and most land border crossings, except the King Hussein/Allenby Bridge crossing from Israel/Palestine, which requires a visa obtained in advance
  • On arrival: present your passport and return ticket at the visa counter before immigration, pay the fee if not holding a Jordan Pass, then proceed to passport control
  • Jordan Pass holders staying 3+ nights have the visa fee waived automatically when the pass is scanned, provided it was purchased at least a few days before arrival
  • Extension beyond 30 days is handled at any local police station inside Jordan and is generally straightforward for the first extension

  • If your itinerary includes crossing to Israel/Palestine via the King Hussein Bridge, arrange the Jordanian visa in advance since VOA is not available at that specific crossing
  • Common issues at entry involve missing return tickets or unclear onward travel plans — have both ready
