What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry with at least 2 blank pages
  • Completed online visa application through the Israeli Population and Immigration Authority portal
  • Digital passport-style photo, white background
  • Confirmed round-trip flight itinerary
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or host invitation)
  • Bank statements showing sufficient funds for the trip
  • Business travellers need an invitation letter from the Israeli host company
  • Biometrics may be requested at the port of entry; not required for the online application itself

Visa types

  • B/2 Tourist visa — single or multiple entry, valid up to 90 days per visit within the visa's overall validity period
  • B/1 Business/work visa — requires sponsorship from an Israeli employer or host organisation
  • Transit visa — for short layovers requiring entry into Israeli territory
  • Most Chinese tourist applicants are granted a single-entry B/2 visa on the first application, with multiple-entry visas available on subsequent trips with a clean travel history

  • Approval is communicated electronically; some categories still require a passport sticker affixed at a consulate or on arrival

  • Expect thorough secondary questioning at Ben Gurion Airport immigration regardless of visa status — carry printed hotel and itinerary details
  • Travel insurance covering the full trip is strongly recommended though not strictly mandatory
  • Extensions inside Israel are handled by the Population and Immigration Authority and are granted only in limited circumstances
