  • A clear digital passport photo page scan and a recent passport-style photo, both uploaded during the online application
  • A valid email address to receive the approved e-visa
  • Proof of onward/return travel (not uploaded, but useful to have on hand at check-in)
  • A debit or credit card to pay the fee online
  • No biometrics or in-person appointment required

Visa types

  • Single-entry e-visa — valid for stays of up to 90 days, fee USD 25
  • Multiple-entry e-visa — valid for stays of up to 90 days with unlimited entries within that period, fee USD 50
  • Both types are issued for tourism, business, or visiting family purposes

How to apply online

  • Go to the official portal at evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn (avoid third-party sites charging extra fees)
  • Create an account, fill in the online application form with passport and trip details
  • Upload your passport photo page and portrait photo
  • Pay the USD 25 (or USD 50 for multiple entry) fee online by card
  • Track your application status using the registration code provided, then download and print the approved e-visa before departure

Fees & processing time

  • Single-entry e-visa fee: USD 25
  • Multiple-entry e-visa fee: USD 50
  • Standard processing time: 3 business days
  • No official express service, but applying a few days earlier avoids any last-minute delays

Tips for Zambia travelers

  • Apply at least a week before departure to allow for any requests for corrected photos or information
  • Print a physical copy of the approved e-visa — immigration officers at entry points check the paper copy
  • Common rejection reasons: blurry photo uploads or passport details that don't match exactly
  • The e-visa is valid for entry through Vietnam's designated international airports and border checkpoints only
