Uzbekistan Visa for Zambia Citizens 2026

Visa Required

Zambian citizens are not on Uzbekistan's e-visa eligibility list, so a sticker visa is required — apply through the nearest Uzbek embassy or honorary consulate before travel; fee is about USD 50-70, processing 3-5 business days.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry
  • Completed Uzbek visa application form
  • 1 passport-size photo (3.5x4.5cm, white background)
  • Invitation letter or confirmed hotel booking in Uzbekistan
  • Proof of sufficient funds for the trip
  • Return or onward flight ticket
  • Travel health insurance covering Uzbekistan (recommended)
  • Biometrics are generally not required for the visa application itself

Visa types

  • Tourist visa — single entry, valid up to 30 days, fee approximately USD 50
  • Business visa — single or multiple entry, requires a formal invitation letter, fee approximately USD 60-70
  • Transit visa — up to 5 days, for onward travel through Uzbekistan

How to apply

  • First check e-visa.gov.uz in case your nationality has since become eligible, as Uzbekistan has steadily expanded its e-visa list
  • If not eligible, apply in person or by courier at the nearest Uzbek embassy (Zambia has no resident mission, so applications typically route through Nairobi or Pretoria)
  • Submit the form, invitation/booking, photo, and fee payment as instructed by the embassy
  • Passport is returned with the visa sticker once approved

Fees & processing time

  • Visa fee: approximately USD 50-70 depending on visa type and number of entries
  • No separate service/agency fee when applying directly at the embassy
  • Standard processing time: 3-5 business days
  • Express processing (1-2 business days) may be available for an additional fee at some missions

Tips for Zambia travelers

  • Apply at least 3 weeks before travel to account for courier time to the nearest embassy
  • Common rejection reasons: no invitation letter or hotel confirmation, or unclear purpose of visit
  • Register your accommodation within 3 days of arrival where required by local rules
  • Visa extensions are limited — plan your itinerary within the granted validity rather than relying on an extension
