Papua New Guinea Visa for Zambia Citizens 2026

e-Visa / eTA

Zambian citizens can apply for Papua New Guinea's Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) online — single-entry tourist ETA costs around USD 100 and is usually approved within 24–72 hours.

Guide last updated September 27, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry
  • Digital colour scan of the passport bio-data page
  • Recent digital passport photo
  • Confirmed return or onward flight ticket
  • Proof of accommodation for the stay
  • Proof of sufficient funds
  • No biometric enrolment required for the ETA itself; standard immigration checks apply on arrival

Visa types

  • Tourist ETA — single entry, valid for a stay of up to 60 days
  • Business ETA — for short business trips, also single entry, generally up to 60 days, requiring an invitation or business justification
  • Longer-term work or resident visas are handled separately through PNG's Immigration and Citizenship Service Authority and require employer sponsorship

How to apply online

  • Apply through PNG's official Electronic Travel Authority portal (linked via immigration.gov.pg)
  • Fill in passport, personal, and travel details, and select the tourist or business category
  • Upload the passport scan and photo
  • Pay the ETA fee online by card
  • Approval is typically emailed within 24–72 hours as a printable authorisation
  • Present the printed ETA approval with your passport at check-in and on arrival in Port Moresby or other entry points

Fees & processing time

  • Tourist ETA fee: approximately USD 100
  • Business ETA fee: similar range, around USD 100–120
  • Standard processing time: 24–72 hours for most applications
  • No guaranteed same-day service — apply at least a week before travel to allow for any additional verification

Tips for Zambia travelers

  • Apply only through the official government ETA portal to avoid overpaying through third-party agents
  • Ensure your passport scan and photo are clear, since poor-quality uploads are the most common cause of delay
  • Carry a printed copy of the ETA approval, as connectivity for showing digital copies can be unreliable at some PNG airports
  • Domestic travel within PNG can require additional permits for certain provinces — check with your accommodation or tour operator
  • Extensions of stay beyond the ETA's validity must be arranged with PNG's Immigration and Citizenship Service Authority before the authorised period expires
