Jordan Visa for Zambia Citizens 2026

Visa Required

Zambian citizens need a sticker visa for Jordan, arranged in advance through the nearest Jordanian embassy or via a registered tour operator; single-entry fee is about 40 JOD (~56 USD), with processing typically taking 5-10 business days.

Guide last updated September 27, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry, with at least one blank page
  • Completed Jordanian visa application form (available from the embassy or downloadable from the Ministry of Interior website)
  • Two recent passport-size photos (white background, 4x6 cm)
  • Confirmed hotel booking or invitation letter from a host in Jordan
  • Return or onward flight ticket
  • Proof of sufficient funds for the stay (bank statement, last 3 months)
  • Travel health insurance covering the Jordan stay is strongly recommended, though not always mandatory
  • Biometrics (fingerprints) are collected at the embassy or on arrival for some visa categories

Visa types

  • Tourist visa (single entry) - valid for 3 months from issue, allows a stay of up to 30 days, about 40 JOD
  • Tourist visa (multiple entry) - valid for 6 months, up to 30 days per visit, about 60 JOD
  • Multiple-entry visa (extended validity, for repeat business/family visitors) - about 120 JOD
  • Business visa - requires an invitation letter from a Jordanian company or chamber of commerce
  • Jordan Pass - a combined visa-waiver-plus-attractions pass available online; the visa fee is waived if you stay at least 3 nights and book through a registered tour operator, but this route mainly suits nationalities already eligible for visa-on-arrival, so most Zambian travelers should still apply in advance

How to apply

  • Zambia has no resident Jordanian embassy, so applications go through the nearest Jordanian diplomatic mission (commonly the Jordanian embassy in Pretoria, South Africa, or via the mission in Cairo)
  • Submit the application form, photos, passport, and supporting documents in person or through a visa agent
  • Some applicants may need a security/entry clearance number in advance through the Ministry of Interior's gateway2jordan.gov.jo portal, especially for business and family-visit visas
  • After approval, the visa is stamped into the passport or issued as a letter to present on arrival at Queen Alia International Airport or a land border
  • Standard processing is 5-10 business days once the file is complete; allow extra time for courier post between Zambia and the handling embassy

Fees & processing time

  • Single-entry visa: about 40 JOD (~56 USD)
  • Multiple-entry visa: about 60-120 JOD depending on validity
  • No separate VFS service fee, since applications are handled directly by the embassy
  • Total estimated cost including courier/agent fees: 60-100 USD
  • Standard processing: 5-10 working days
  • Express processing is not generally offered for this route; build in extra time if applying by post

Tips for Zambia travelers

  • Apply at least 3-4 weeks before travel to allow for document courier time between Zambia and the handling embassy
  • Common rejection reasons: incomplete financial proof, no confirmed accommodation, or a passport with insufficient validity
  • Because Jordan has no visa services company (like VFS) covering Zambia, direct embassy correspondence or a reputable visa agent is usually the only route
  • Check current travel advisories for the region before finalizing plans, and register with Zambia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs if traveling for an extended period
  • Extensions of stay can be arranged at the Residency and Borders office in Amman before the visa expires
