Guide last updated November 1, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry
  • Digital passport-style photo for the online application
  • Confirmed return or onward flight ticket
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking)
  • Proof of sufficient funds for the stay
  • Travel health insurance is recommended
  • No in-person biometrics required before arrival; a biometric photo/fingerprint may be taken at the airport on arrival

Visa types

  • e-Visa on Arrival (e-VOA): single entry, valid for a stay of 30 days, extendable once for another 30 days, fee USD 35
  • Multiple-entry e-VOA: valid for 1 year with multiple visits of up to 30 days each, higher fee around USD 70-100
  • Visit/business e-visa: for non-tourism short visits, requires a sponsor letter, similar documentation

How to apply online

  • Apply through Indonesia's official e-VOA portal (molina.imigrasi.go.id)
  • Create an account and complete the online application with passport and travel details
  • Upload passport bio-page scan and photo
  • Pay the fee online by debit/credit card
  • Receive the approved e-VOA by email as a QR code document; present it along with your passport on arrival for stamping

Fees & processing time

  • E-VOA fee: USD 35 for the single-entry 30-day visa
  • No separate service fee when applying directly through the official portal
  • Total estimated cost: USD 35-40 including any card surcharge
  • Standard processing time: 1-3 business days, often same-day during off-peak periods
  • No formal express option, but early application avoids delays from server congestion during peak travel periods

Tips for Zambia travelers

  • Apply a few days before departure, since approval is usually fast but can occasionally take longer during busy periods
  • Common rejection reasons: blurry document scans, passport validity shorter than 6 months, unclear or mismatched travel details
  • Keep the QR code document accessible on your phone and printed as backup for airport scanning
  • The 30-day e-VOA can be extended once for a further 30 days at an immigration office in Indonesia before it expires
  • Check which airports and seaports accept e-VOA arrivals, as not all entry points are enabled
