Greece Visa for Zambia Citizens 2026

Visa Required

Zambian citizens need a Schengen visa to visit Greece; applications are submitted through the visa application centre serving the region, cost EUR 90, and take up to 15 calendar days to process.

Guide last updated September 27, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid at least 3 months beyond departure from the Schengen area, with 2 blank pages
  • Completed Schengen visa application form
  • 2 recent biometric passport photos
  • Travel insurance covering at least EUR 30,000
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel bookings or host invitation)
  • Round-trip flight reservation
  • Bank statements showing sufficient funds for the trip
  • Biometrics (fingerprints/photo) taken at the visa application centre

Visa types

  • Schengen Tourist/Visitor visa (Type C): single or multiple entry, up to 90 days within 180 days, fee EUR 90
  • Business visa: same category, needs an invitation letter from the Greek host
  • National (Type D) visa: for study or long-term work, applied for separately

How to apply

  • Book an appointment with the visa application centre or nearest Greek/Schengen partner mission serving Zambia
  • Complete the application form and assemble the document checklist
  • Attend the appointment for document submission and biometrics
  • Pay the fee
  • Track the decision; passports are returned once the consulate handling the application decides

Fees & processing time

  • Visa fee: EUR 90
  • Visa centre service fee: approximately EUR 25-30
  • Total: around EUR 115-120
  • Standard processing: up to 15 calendar days from a complete submission
  • Can extend to 30 days during the busy summer season (June-August)

Tips for Zambia travelers

  • Since Zambia has no resident Greek consulate, applications typically route through a regional visa centre or a neighboring country's Greek mission - confirm the correct submission point before booking
  • Apply at least a month ahead, especially for summer travel
  • Common rejection reasons: weak financial proof, unclear onward-return intent
  • If touring multiple Schengen countries, apply via Greece only if it's your main destination or first entry point; in-country extensions are rarely granted except for emergencies
