El Salvador Visa for Zambia Citizens 2026

e-Visa / eTA

Zambian citizens need an El Salvador e-Visa before departure — apply online via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs portal; fee is about USD 50, processing 3-5 business days.

Guide last updated November 1, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid at least 6 months beyond intended stay, with 2 blank pages
  • Completed online e-Visa application form
  • Digital passport-style photo (white background, taken within last 6 months)
  • Proof of accommodation: hotel booking confirmation or signed invitation letter
  • Return or onward flight ticket
  • Proof of sufficient funds (bank statement showing approx. USD 50/day of stay)
  • Travel health insurance recommended, not mandatory
  • No biometrics required at application stage; fingerprints may be taken on arrival at some ports

Visa types

  • Tourist e-Visa: single entry, valid 90 days from issue date, permits stay up to 30 days, fee approx. USD 50
  • Business e-Visa: single entry, requires an invitation/support letter from the host company, fee approx. USD 60
  • El Salvador belongs to the CA-4 bloc (with Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua) — a single CA-4 visa or this e-Visa also permits travel among all four countries without a new visa

How to apply online

  • Apply through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs portal (rree.gob.sv) or the nearest honorary consulate, since there is no El Salvador embassy in Zambia
  • Steps: create an account, complete the form, upload required documents, pay the fee online by card
  • Approval is sent by email as a PDF — print it and present it with your passport at the port of entry
  • Standard processing time is 3-5 business days; no formal express/priority service is advertised

Fees & processing time

  • e-Visa fee: approx. USD 50 (tourist) or USD 60 (business), payable online by card
  • No separate VFS/BLS service fee since applications go direct to the ministry
  • Total estimated cost: USD 50-60
  • Standard processing: 3-5 working days
  • No express option currently offered

Tips for Zambia travelers

  • Apply at least 2-3 weeks before your trip since there is no embassy in Zambia to assist in person
  • Common rejection reasons: insufficient proof of funds, no return ticket, photo not meeting specification
  • Keep a printed and digital copy of your approval email for both departure and arrival checks
  • The same e-Visa lets you also visit Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua under the CA-4 arrangement
  • To extend your stay, apply at the Dirección General de Migración y Extranjería before the visa expires
