Brunei Visa for Zambia Citizens 2026

Visa Required

Zambian citizens need a visa to enter Brunei, applied for at the nearest Bruneian mission (commonly Kuala Lumpur or Singapore) with a fee of around BND 20-30 and processing of about 5 working days.

Guide last updated October 30, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry
  • Completed Brunei visa application form
  • Two recent passport-size photos (white background)
  • Proof of accommodation in Brunei (hotel booking)
  • Return or onward flight ticket
  • Proof of sufficient funds for the stay
  • Letter of invitation if visiting family, friends or a business contact
  • Travel insurance is recommended though not strictly mandatory

Visa types

  • Single-entry tourist visa - valid for a stay of up to 30 days, fee around BND 20
  • Multiple-entry visa - for frequent business travellers, fee around BND 30, validity up to 3 months
  • Transit visa - for short stopovers, often waived for transits under 72 hours with onward tickets

How to apply

  • Brunei has no mission in Zambia, so applications are routed through the Brunei High Commission in a neighbouring region (commonly Kuala Lumpur, Singapore or London)
  • Obtain the application form from immigration.gov.bn or the relevant high commission
  • Submit the form with supporting documents in person or by courier, as the mission instructs
  • Pay the visa fee in the local currency equivalent of BND, by cash or bank transfer
  • Processing generally takes about 5 working days once documents are complete

Fees & processing time

  • Visa fee: approximately BND 20-30 (about USD 15-22)
  • No separate service centre fee - paid directly to the mission
  • Total estimated cost: around USD 20-30 plus any courier charges
  • Standard processing time: about 5 working days
  • No widely advertised express service

Tips for Zambia travelers

  • Apply at least 3-4 weeks ahead to allow time for the application to reach and return from the relevant regional mission
  • A common rejection reason is an unclear purpose of visit - a detailed itinerary and invitation letter help
  • Confirm current requirements directly with mfa.gov.bn before applying, as Brunei adjusts entry rules periodically
  • If transiting through Brunei briefly, check whether a transit visa exemption applies to avoid unnecessary cost
  • Extensions of stay are handled by the Immigration and National Registration Department inside Brunei
