British citizens can obtain a Zimbabwean visa on arrival at any port of entry, or apply online in advance through the official e-visa portal — a single-entry tourist visa typically costs around USD 55 and is usually processed within minutes to a few days.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your date of entry, with at least one blank page
  • Completed arrival visa form (given at the port of entry) or an online e-visa application at evisa.gov.zw if applying in advance
  • Confirmed onward/return ticket
  • Proof of accommodation and sufficient funds, which may be checked by the immigration officer
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate if arriving from an at-risk country
  • No specific photo requirement for the visa-on-arrival route; the e-visa route requires a digital passport-style photo
  • Travel health insurance is strongly recommended

Visa types

  • Single-entry tourist visa: around USD 30 to USD 55 depending on the port and payment method, valid for a single stay of up to 30 days
  • Double-entry tourist visa: around USD 45 to USD 75, allows one re-entry within the validity period, useful for crossing to Zambia and back for Victoria Falls
  • KAZA UniVisa: around USD 50, a joint Zimbabwe-Zambia multi-entry visa valid for up to 30 days, available at participating borders and airports
