What you need

  • Passport validity: Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond the date you intend to leave the Schengen area, and it must have been issued within the last 10 years.
  • Specific forms: No pre-travel visa application form is required for UK citizens; no DS-160, VAF1A or Slovenian pre-registration for short stays.
  • Financial proof: There is no fixed minimum amount published by Slovenian authorities for visa-free entry; border control may request proof of sufficient funds. Have access to funds via bank statements, cards, or cash.
  • Accommodation and return/ onward ticket: You may be asked to provide proof of accommodation (hotel booking or invitation from a host) and a return or onward ticket.
  • Photo specs: Not required for visa-free entry; your passport photo is the one used for your passport. If you are asked to provide a photo for any form, ensure a 35x45 mm (passport) photo on a plain light background.
  • Biometrics: Not applicable at border for visa-free entry; you will not submit biometrics when entering Slovenia.
  • Travel health insurance: Travel health insurance is not a requirement for visa-free entry, but it is strongly recommended. Ensure you have coverage for medical emergencies and check whether your GHIC (or UK-issued Global Health Insurance Card) would cover any EU healthcare needs.
