Tips for United Kingdom travelers

  • How far in advance to apply: No pre arrival visa is required; you can travel with the on arrival visa plan if eligible.
  • Common rejection reasons for United Kingdom applicants specifically: Passport validity less than six months, insufficient funds or inability to show funds, lack of hotel or return ticket, or travel purpose appearing inconsistent with entry rules.
  • VFS/BLS vs direct embassy application: Visa on arrival does not go through VFS/BLS; there is no pre approval; you do not need to visit an embassy or consulate for this visa.
  • Any current travel advisories or bilateral notes: Check UK government travel advice and Qatar official advisories for current conditions and visa rules; advisories may change.
  • Extension options inside Qatar: Visa on arrival can be extended once for up to 30 days by applying at the MOI before the initial 30 days expire; extension fee is QR 100; approval is not guaranteed and depends on MOI.
