What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 3 months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen area, issued within the last 10 years.

  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or invitation letter).

  • No biometrics required for visa-free entry; your passport is simply stamped.

Visa types

  • Residence permit applications filed in Poland carry a fee of around PLN 340 and can take several months to process.
  • No fast-track option exists for the standard visa-free entry, as no application is filed.

Tips for United Kingdom travelers

  • Track your cumulative Schengen days if combining Poland with other EU/Schengen destinations on the same trip.
  • Use the separate non-EU passport lanes at Polish airports; e-gates are generally not available to UK travellers post-Brexit.
  • Carry proof of accommodation and return tickets, as border checks for third-country nationals are more detailed than before Brexit.
  • Check FCDO travel advice, particularly regarding the Poland-Belarus and Poland-Ukraine border regions.
  • If considering remote work from Poland for an extended period, note this still falls under the standard 90-day visa-free limit unless you arrange a different permit.
