Visa types

  • Nigeria Visa on Arrival via e-Visa pre-approval: short-stay/tourist, single entry, up to 90 days, handling fee around USD 60 plus a visa fee around USD 160-180 for UK citizens (reciprocity-based pricing)
  • Business e-Visa: similar process, requires an invitation letter from a Nigerian company
  • Multiple-entry visas available for frequent business travellers through the same portal at a higher fee

How to apply online

  • Apply at the Nigeria Immigration Service e-Visa portal (portal.immigration.gov.ng)
  • Create an account and complete the form
  • Upload your passport bio page, photo, yellow fever certificate, and supporting documents (invitation letter or hotel booking)
  • Pay online by card
  • Processing typically takes 5-10 business days
  • On approval you receive a pre-approval letter; combined with the visa fee paid at the airport, this converts to the actual visa stamp on arrival at Lagos (Murtala Muhammed) or Abuja (Nnamdi Azikiwe) airport

Tips for United Kingdom travelers
