Israel Visa for United Kingdom Citizens 2026

British citizens can travel to Israel visa-free for tourism and should complete an online entry registration before arrival.

What you need

  • Passport valid for the duration of the intended stay
  • Proof of return or onward travel
  • Accommodation address for the online arrival form
  • Proof of sufficient funds may be requested at the border
  • Travel insurance recommended

Visa types

  • Tourist entry (B/2) - visa-free for up to 90 days for British passport holders, with no advance visa needed for most visits
  • Business visa - short business trips are generally also covered under the same 90-day visa-free allowance
  • Work or study visa - must be arranged in advance through the Israeli Ministry of Interior or the nearest consulate

How to apply online

  • Complete the online arrival form via the Israeli Population and Immigration Authority portal before travel, providing passport details, travel dates and accommodation address
  • At Ben Gurion Airport, present your passport to the border control officer, who grants entry (stamp or entry card) valid for up to 90 days
  • No visa fee is charged for this tourist entry

Fees & processing time

  • No fee for the visa-free tourist entry or the online arrival registration
  • Processing of the online form is near-instant
  • Any extension of stay applied for inside Israel at the Ministry of Interior carries an administrative fee of around ILS 170-200 and can take several days to a few weeks to process

Tips for United Kingdom travelers

  • Complete the online registration a few days before travel to avoid delays at the border
  • Carry proof of return travel and accommodation
  • Request a separate entry card rather than a passport stamp if you plan to visit certain neighboring countries afterward, as an Israeli stamp can complicate entry there
  • Extensions beyond 90 days are not routinely granted for tourists and should be arranged well in advance through the Ministry of Interior
