  • Digital passport-style photo
  • Scanned passport bio page
  • Hotel booking or full itinerary for tourist applicants; invitation letter for business applicants
  • Proof of funds, occasionally requested
  • Biometrics: not required for the e-visa; may be captured on arrival at some airports

How to apply online

  • Register at Pakistan's official e-Visa portal (online visa system operated jointly by NADRA and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs)
  • Complete the application with passport and travel details
  • Upload your photo, passport bio page and supporting documents
  • Pay the fee online by card
  • Choose normal processing (about 10 working days) or urgent/rush processing (3-5 working days, higher fee)
  • Approval is emailed as an electronic travel authorization to print and carry
  • Present the printed e-visa with your passport on arrival

Fees & processing time

  • Tourist e-visa, normal processing: approx $30-35, about 10 working days
  • Tourist e-visa, urgent/rush processing: approx $60-70, about 3-5 working days
  • Business e-visa: approx $30-180 depending on validity tier chosen
  • No separate agency fee - payment is made directly on the government portal

Tips for South Africa travelers

  • Apply at least 2-3 weeks ahead if using standard processing
  • Double-check that all details match your passport exactly - mismatches are a common rejection reason
  • The tourist e-visa allows a single entry only; reapply if you need multiple trips
  • Some regions are restricted and require a separate no-objection certificate (NOC) for travel - check the current list before finalising your itinerary
  • Register your presence with local police if travelling in certain border areas, as advised on arrival
