Syria Visa for Singapore Citizens 2026

Singaporean citizens can apply for an online Tourist or Business e-visa to Syria via the official portal; typical costs start around USD 60 and processing takes 2–5 business days.

What you need

  • Passport validity: Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Syria and have at least two blank visa pages.
  • Specific forms: Online e-visa application via the official portal https://www.embassysyria.org/; no DS-160, VAF1A or similar forms are required for the e-visa route.
  • Financial proof: There is no published fixed funds requirement for the e-visa. You should have sufficient funds for the stay; be prepared to show bank statements if asked by border authorities.
  • Accommodation and return ticket: Proof of accommodation for the entire stay (hotel booking or invitation letter) and a return or onward ticket.
  • Photo spec: One recent color photograph 35x45 mm (3.5 x 4.5 cm) with a white background; taken within the last 6 months; no glasses if possible.
  • Biometrics: Not required as part of the online e-visa application; border authorities may collect biometrics on arrival depending on entry procedures.
  • Travel health insurance: Not mandatory for the e-visa, but travel health insurance is strongly recommended.

  • Work e-visa: Official name Work e-visa; Availability: Not typically issued via the online e-visa portal and generally requires embassy/consulate processing; Official e-visa fee not published; N/A.

How to apply online

  • Create an account or log in on the e-visa portal.
  • Complete the online application form with personal details, passport information and travel plans.
  • Upload required documents: scanned image of passport data page, a recent passport-style photo, and any invitation letter or hotel booking as applicable.
  • Pay the visa fee by credit or debit card.
  • Submit the application. You will receive a confirmation and a reference number; the decision is usually delivered by email or via the portal within 2–5 working days.
  • Print the approved e-visa and carry a digital copy to border control.

Fees & processing time

  • Visa fees (USD): Tourist USD 60; Business USD 75. Local currency if shown on the portal may be converted by your card; no separate VFS/BLS service fee applies for e-visas.
  • Total cost estimate: USD 60–75 plus any card processing fees.

Tips for Singapore travelers

  • Apply at least 3–4 weeks before your intended travel date to allow for processing.
  • Common rejection reasons (Singapore applicants): mismatch between passport data and application, passport validity under tolerance, incomplete documentation or photos, insufficient travel plans or lack of hotel/invitation details, or inconsistent travel history.
  • VFS/BLS vs direct embassy application: For Syria e-visas you apply directly through the official portal; avoid third-party agencies offering guaranteed approvals.
  • Travel advisories: Check Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Syria embassy site for the latest advisories and risk information before travelling.
