Russia Visa for Singapore Citizens 2026

Singaporean citizens can apply for a Russia electronic visa (e-visa) for Tourism or Business via the official portal; the e-visa is valid up to 60 days from issue with a maximum stay of 8 days, is single-entry, and currently carries no visa fee.

What you need

  • Passport validity: your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the planned date of entry into Russia, and have at least 2 unused pages for entry/exit stamps.
  • Specific forms: use the official e-visa online application at https://electronic-visa.kdmid.ru/; there is no DS-160 or VAF1A form.
  • Financial proof: no explicit bank statements are required for the e-visa application, but you should have sufficient funds to cover your stay.
  • Accommodation and return ticket: provide hotel booking details or an invitation letter/address in Russia in the application; return/onward ticket details are recommended.
  • Photo spec: upload a passport-style photo (size typically 35x45 mm) with a white background, full face, neutral expression.
  • Biometrics: no in-person biometrics submission is required for the e-visa.
  • Travel health insurance: mandatory medical insurance valid in the Russian Federation for the duration of your stay, with coverage of at least 10,000 EUR (or equivalent in USD/SGD) as you travel.
  • Other: print a copy of the approved e-visa to present on arrival; keep a digital copy as well.

Visa types

  • Tourist e-visa (туристическая) for tourism purposes: official name in practice is Electronic Visa for Tourism; general validity up to 60 days from issue; maximum stay per visit up to 8 days; single-entry; approximate fee: SGD 0 (USD 0).
  • Business e-visa (деловая) for business purposes: official name in practice is Electronic Visa for Business; same general validity and stay limits as tourist e-visa; single-entry; approximate fee: SGD 0 (USD 0).
  • Other e-visa purposes (e.g., culture, humanitarian): available via the same portal depending on eligibility; for Singapore citizens, tourism and business are the primary e-visa routes. For work, study, or longer stays, standard (non-e-visa) visa channels apply.

Application process

  • How to apply online: 1) Go to https://electronic-visa.kdmid.ru/ and select Singapore as the applicant country. 2) Choose the e-visa purpose (Tourist or Business) and set travel dates, entry/exit points, and region of visit. 3) Upload the required documents (passport data page scan, a digital photo, hotel or invitation details, and health insurance information). 4) Review, then submit and pay the e-visa fee (if any) online. 5) You will receive a decision through the portal; once approved, print the e-visa or download it from the portal and carry it with you. 6) Present the printed e-visa along with your passport on arrival in Russia. Processing time is typically 4–6 business days; expect longer processing during peak periods.

Tips for Singapore travelers

  • Apply well in advance: aim to submit at least 2–3 weeks before departure to cover any processing delays.
  • Common rejection reasons (Singapore applicants): passport validity not meeting the 6-month requirement, incomplete or inconsistent travel details (dates, purpose, region), missing or mismatched accommodation/invitation details, failure to provide valid health insurance, insufficient or non-matching photos, or incorrect data entry.
  • VFS/BLS vs direct portal: for the e-visa route you apply directly online via the official kdmid.ru portal; no external visa processing service is required.
  • Travel advisories and bilateral notes: check the Singapore MFA and the Russian Federation embassy pages for current travel advisories and entry rules, as visa policies and border requirements can change.
  • Entry rules and ports: e-visas are valid for entry through designated points and for travel within the permitted regions; verify current entry points and regional restrictions on the official portal before travel.
  • Extension options: e-visas cannot be extended; if you need a longer stay, you must obtain a standard visa before or after your trip, or exit and re-enter under a new e-visa if eligible.
  • On arrival: carry a printed copy of the e-visa and your passport; immigration officers may ask for proof of insurance and accommodation details.
