What you need

  • Passport validity: 6 months beyond date of intended entry; at least two blank pages.
  • Forms: Official visa application form (Solicitud de Visto) is available on the official portal or at the Paraguayan consulate; complete and print as required.
  • Financial proof: Bank statements for last 3 months showing funds equivalent to at least USD 60 per day of stay; provide liquidity beyond accommodation and return tickets.
  • Accommodation and return ticket: Hotel bookings or invitation letter; a confirmed return or onward ticket is required.
  • Photo: Recent color photo 35x45 mm (3.5 x 4.5 cm) with white background; 300 dpi; JPG or PNG; size under 2 MB.
  • Biometrics: Biometrics collection is not always required in Singapore; if requested by the consulate you will be advised to attend a biometrics appointment.
  • Travel health insurance: Not mandatory but strongly recommended; coverage minimum USD 30,000; includes medical evacuation.

  • Business visa (Visto de Negocios): Official name Visto de Negocios; validity 180 days from issue; max stay 90 days per visit; multiple entries allowed up to 1 year; approximate fee USD 80; local currency approx 480,000 PYG.
  • Student visa (Visto de Estudiante): Official name Visto de Estudiante; validity 1 year; max stay per visit tied to duration of studies; multiple entries; approximate fee USD 120; local currency approx 720,000 PYG.
  • Work visa (Visto de Trabajo): Official name Visto de Trabajo; validity 1 year; max stay per visit 1 year; multiple entries; approximate fee USD 200; local currency approx 1,200,000 PYG.

Application process

  • How to apply online: Visit the official Paraguay visa portal at https://www.mre.gov.py/; Steps: 1) Create an applicant account; 2) Select the visa type (Tourist, Business, Student, or Work); 3) Complete the online form with personal and travel details; 4) Upload required documents (passport scan, biometric photo, financial proof, travel itinerary, hotel bookings or invitation letter, return ticket); 5) Pay the visa fee in USD or local currency as shown; 6) Submit and await confirmation in the portal or by email; 7) When approved, print the visa approval document and present it on entry; 8) Depending on the visa type, the border may stamp your passport or you may receive an electronic visa.
  • Visa on arrival: Visa on arrival is not offered for Singaporean citizens; you must obtain a visa before travel through the official portal or a Paraguayan embassy.
