What you need

  • Passport validity: Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Myanmar and have at least 1 blank visa page.
  • Online application forms: Use the official online portal at https://evisa.moip.gov.mm/; no DS-160, VAF1A, or other paper forms required for e-Visa.
  • Financial proof: Not required for the e-Visa; you do not need to show bank statements.
  • Accommodation and return ticket: Provide the name and address of your hotel or place of stay in Myanmar; having a confirmed return/onward flight is recommended but not always mandatory.
  • Photo and documents: Upload a recent passport-style photo (2x2 inches / 51x51 mm) with white background; accepted formats JPG/PNG; max file size about 5 MB; upload a scanned data page of your passport.
  • Biometric submission: No separate online biometrics submission is required; biometric data may be collected on arrival at the immigration checkpoint.
  • Travel health insurance: Not required, but highly recommended.
  • Port of entry: You can enter Myanmar via Yangon International Airport, Mandalay International Airport, or Nay Pyi Taw International Airport when using the e-Visa.

  • Non-electronic (Sticker) visa via Myanmar Embassy/Consulate — Official name: Myanmar Non-Immigrant Visa (Sticker); Availability: Through a Myanmar Embassy/Consulate (including Singapore if applicable); Not issued online; Fees vary by embassy (commonly around USD 50–60 or equivalent in local currency); Processing time: typically 5–10 working days; Entry: Single or multiple depending on the issued visa.
  • Other categories (Student, Work) — Not normally issued as online e-Visas; require embassy processing and sponsor/employer admissions; contact MOFA or the nearest Myanmar Embassy for details; fees and processing vary by embassy.

Application process

  • How to apply online: Go to https://evisa.moip.gov.mm/ and create an account, then complete the electronic application form for Tourist or Business e-Visa.
  • Steps: 1) Enter applicant details and passport information; 2) Upload required documents (passport data page scan, digital photo); 3) Select visa type (Tourist or Business); 4) Pay the visa fee using a credit/debit card; 5) Submit and wait for confirmation; 6) Print the approved e-Visa or download it from the portal when approved.
  • Fee (online): Tourist USD 50; Business USD 70; Payment is in USD; local-currency equivalents shown during application may vary with exchange rates.
  • Processing time: Standard processing 3–4 working days; some cases may take longer up to 7 days; optional express processing (extra fee) may be offered during application.

Tips for Singapore travelers
