What you need

  • Passport validity: Passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond the planned date of departure from Croatia, and issued within the last 10 years; ensure at least two blank pages.
  • Specific forms: No Croatia visa form is required before travel for short stays; no DS-160 or equivalent; for longer stays, applications must be made via the Croatian authorities/embassy.
  • Financial proof: There is no published fixed amount for visa-free entry; border authorities may ask to show funds to cover your stay. Carry bank statements or proof of access to funds.
  • Accommodation and return ticket: Have confirmed accommodation (hotel booking or invitation letter) and a return or onward ticket.
  • Photo spec: Two recent colour passport photos, 35x45 mm, white background, face forward and clearly identifiable.
  • Biometrics: No pre-travel biometric submission is required; border control may perform standard checks on arrival.
  • Travel health insurance: Not mandatory for visa-free entry, but travel health insurance covering medical expenses is strongly recommended; aim for coverage up to 30,000 EUR.

Visa types

  • Croatian national visa Type D: Official name: Croatian national visa (Viza za dugotrajni boravak); validity up to 12 months; max stay up to 12 months; entries: single or multiple; approximate fee: around 60–100 EUR.
  • Student visa (long-stay Type D): For study programs longer than 90 days; requires acceptance letter; duration aligned with study; fee: similar to Type D.
  • Work visa (temporary residence for work): Requires employer and work permit; handled via Croatian authorities; fee: typically 60–100 EUR; duration tied to work contract.

  • Entry conditions: No pre-arrival visa required for stays up to 90 days; on entry, carry passport and be prepared to show proof of accommodation, funds and a return ticket. Extensions beyond 90 days require a temporary residence permit via Croatian authorities.
  • How to apply online: Not applicable for visa-free entries; ETIAS is not yet implemented as of now; monitor updates on mvep.gov.hr for any future requirements.
  • Visa on arrival: Not available for Croatia from Singapore.
  • Sticker visa: Not applicable for short stays; for long stays, apply through the Croatian embassy/consulate that covers Singapore region; consult mvep.gov.hr and the local embassy for the exact procedure.
