  • Digital passport bio-data page scan (color, under 2MB)
  • Recent digital passport-style photo (4x6cm, white background)
  • Confirmed accommodation address in Vietnam for the e-visa form
  • Proof of onward/return travel (recommended, not always checked)
  • No biometrics required for the e-Visa; fingerprints only if applying for a longer-term visa at the embassy
  • Travel health insurance is recommended but not mandatory

Visa types

  • e-Visa (single entry): valid 30 days, single entry, fee USD 25
  • e-Visa (multiple entry): valid up to 90 days, multiple entry, fee USD 50
  • Tourist sticker visa (DL/TT): available through the embassy for longer or multiple-entry needs, fee varies
  • Business visa (DN1/DN2): requires sponsoring company in Vietnam, fee approx. USD 25-50

How to apply online

  • Go to evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn and create an account
  • Upload the passport bio-data scan and passport photo
  • Fill in personal details, accommodation address, and entry/exit points
  • Pay the fee online by credit/debit card (USD 25 single-entry or USD 50 multiple-entry)
  • Processing takes 3 working days for standard service
  • Once approved, download and print the e-visa PDF — it must be shown together with the passport at the port of entry
  • No physical stamp or sticker is issued in advance

Fees & processing time

  • Single-entry e-Visa fee: USD 25
  • Multiple-entry e-Visa fee: USD 50
  • No separate service fee when applying directly on the official government portal
  • Standard processing: 3 working days
  • Urgent/expedited processing (same-day or next-day) is offered by some authorized third-party agents for an additional USD 15-40, but is not an official government option

Tips for Kenya travelers

  • Apply at least 5-7 days before travel to allow for processing delays
  • Common rejection reasons: blurry photo uploads, mismatched passport details, incomplete accommodation address
  • Only use the official portal (evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn) — many third-party sites charge extra for the same service
  • Double-check the entry/exit border checkpoint listed, as arriving at an unlisted checkpoint can cause denial of entry
  • Extensions of stay can be arranged through licensed travel agents in Vietnam or the Immigration Department before the e-visa expires
