What you need

  • Passport valid at least 6 months from the date of entry
  • Completed online e-visa application at visa.gouv.tg with a scanned passport bio-page
  • Digital passport-style photo uploaded during application
  • Confirmed round-trip flight booking
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or invitation letter)
  • Evidence of sufficient funds for the stay
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate, mandatory given Kenya is a yellow-fever-endemic country
  • No biometrics required for the e-visa itself; travel health insurance recommended

Visa types

  • Tourist e-Visa — single entry, valid for a stay of up to 15 days, extendable
  • Business e-Visa — single entry, requires an invitation letter from a Togolese company or organization
  • Multiple-entry e-Visa — available for an additional fee for travelers needing repeated entries within the validity period

How to apply online

  • Kenyan applicants apply directly through the official portal at visa.gouv.tg. Register an account, complete the application form with personal and travel information, upload the required documents including the yellow fever certificate, and pay the fee online by card. Approval is sent by email as an e-visa document, which should be printed and presented along with the passport on arrival at Lome-Tokoin International Airport or another official port of entry.

Fees & processing time

  • E-visa fee: approximately USD 30 for single entry; multiple-entry options cost more, around USD 50
  • No separate service fee when applying directly on the official visa.gouv.tg portal
  • Standard processing time: 3-5 working days
  • Express processing (24-72 hours) may be available for an additional fee through the official portal

Tips for Kenya travelers

  • Apply at least a week before travel, and ensure the yellow fever certificate is uploaded clearly, as this is a common cause of delay
  • Common rejection reasons include a missing yellow fever certificate, blurry document scans, or an unclear travel purpose
  • Only use the official visa.gouv.tg website to avoid inflated fees charged by unofficial agents
  • Extensions of stay can be requested at the Direction Generale de la Documentation Nationale in Lome before the initial validity expires
  • Carry printed copies of the e-visa approval and yellow fever certificate, as border checks may require physical documents
