Seychelles Visa for Kenya Citizens 2026

Visa Free

Kenyan citizens do not need a visa for Seychelles — a free Visitor's Permit is issued on arrival for up to 90 days, provided you show a valid passport, return ticket, proof of accommodation, and sufficient funds.

Guide last updated September 25, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for the full duration of the intended stay
  • No visa or online application required in advance — only a valid passport and supporting documents
  • Confirmed return or onward flight ticket
  • Proof of pre-paid accommodation for every night of the stay (hotel booking, villa, or registered guesthouse)
  • Proof of sufficient funds to support the visit (cash, card, or bank statement)
  • No photo required for entry
  • Biometrics: photo and passport scan taken at the immigration counter on arrival at Seychelles International Airport
  • Travel health insurance: recommended but not mandatory

Visa types

  • Visitor's Permit — the only entry category for tourists, issued free on arrival, valid for an initial period of up to 90 days
  • Occupation/Gainful Occupation Permit — required separately if working in Seychelles, applied for in advance through a local employer
  • Residence Permit — for longer-term stays, applied for after arrival through the Immigration Division

Entry conditions

  • On arrival, present your passport, return ticket, and proof of accommodation and funds to Seychelles Immigration at the airport
  • A Visitor's Permit is stamped into your passport, initially valid for up to 90 days depending on your stated travel plans
  • Working is not permitted on a Visitor's Permit; any paid employment requires a separate Gainful Occupation Permit arranged beforehand
  • The permit can be extended at the Immigration Division in Victoria, Mahe, though extensions beyond 90 days require justification and proof of continued funds/accommodation
  • No fee is charged for the standard Visitor's Permit issued on arrival

Fees & processing time

  • Standard Visitor's Permit on arrival: no fee
  • Permit extension at the Immigration Division (Victoria): approximately SCR 500-1,000 (approx. USD 35-70) depending on the extension period
  • Extension processing time: same day to 2 working days if all documents are in order
  • No express service needed since the initial permit is issued immediately at the airport

Tips for Kenya travelers

  • Book and pay for accommodation before departure, since immigration officers can deny entry without proof of a confirmed place to stay
  • Kenya Airways offers direct flights to Mahe, making Seychelles one of the more accessible Indian Ocean destinations from Nairobi
  • If planning a stay longer than 90 days, visit the Immigration Division in Victoria at least a week before the permit expires to request an extension
  • Common issues for travelers include arriving without a printed or downloaded proof of accommodation booking
  • Carry more than the minimum recommended funds, since Seychelles is a relatively high-cost destination and officers may ask about your budget for the stay
