Serbia Visa for Kenya Citizens 2026

Visa Required

Kenyan citizens need a Serbian national visa (Type C) obtained in advance from the nearest Serbian embassy — since there is no consulate in Nairobi, applications typically go through the Serbian Embassy in Pretoria or Addis Ababa — before traveling for tourism or business.

Guide last updated September 25, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended departure from Serbia, with at least 2 blank pages
  • Completed Serbian visa application form, signed and dated
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or invitation letter from a host in Serbia)
  • Confirmed round-trip flight itinerary
  • Financial proof: bank statement showing at least EUR 50 per day of intended stay
  • Two passport photos, 35mm x 45mm, white background, taken within the last 6 months
  • Biometrics: fingerprints and photo captured in person at the embassy or an authorized visa application centre
  • Travel health insurance: mandatory, minimum EUR 30,000 coverage valid for the whole stay in Serbia

Visa types

  • Type C Tourist Visa — single or double entry, valid up to 90 days within a 180-day period, fee approx. EUR 60 (approx. USD 65)
  • Type C Business Visa — same validity, requires an official invitation letter from a Serbian company or organization
  • Type D National Visa — for stays over 90 days (study, work, family reunification), applied for with additional supporting documents from the relevant Serbian authority

How to apply

  • Contact the nearest Serbian embassy (Pretoria, South Africa, or Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, are the closest missions covering Kenya) to confirm submission arrangements, since Kenya has no dedicated Serbian consulate
  • Submit the application form, passport, photos, accommodation proof, insurance, and financial evidence either in person or via a recognized visa agent
  • Attend a biometric appointment where required
  • Pay the visa fee (approx. EUR 60 for adults) by the method specified by the embassy, often bank transfer or card
  • Standard processing takes 10-15 working days from a complete submission; some embassies allow courier submission for applicants unable to travel to the mission in person

Fees & processing time

  • Visa fee: approximately EUR 60 (approx. USD 65) for a Type C short-stay visa
  • Courier/agent handling fee if not applying in person: varies, typically USD 30-60
  • Total estimated cost: USD 100-150
  • Standard processing: 10-15 working days
  • Express processing (3-5 working days) available at some missions for an additional fee, subject to embassy discretion

Tips for Kenya travelers

  • Apply at least 4-6 weeks in advance given the need to route the application through Pretoria or Addis Ababa rather than a local consulate
  • Common rejection reasons include incomplete financial documentation and unclear or unbooked accommodation for the full stay
  • Where possible, use a reputable visa facilitation agent experienced with Serbian applications from East Africa to avoid delays
  • Double-check current requirements directly with the embassy before applying, since procedures for applicants without a local consulate can change
  • Extensions inside Serbia are handled by the Ministry of Interior and should be requested well before the visa expires
