Visa Free

Kenyan passport holders can enter the Philippines visa-free for tourism for up to 30 days, provided they hold a valid return ticket and passport valid for at least 6 months.

Guide last updated September 25, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of arrival
  • Confirmed round-trip or onward flight ticket
  • Proof of sufficient funds for the stay (cash, cards, or bank statements) may be requested by immigration officers
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or host address) recommended to carry, though not always checked
  • No visa application, form, or photo submission is required in advance for stays up to 30 days
  • Travel health insurance is recommended but not mandatory
  • No biometrics are collected in advance; fingerprints and photo may be taken at the immigration counter on arrival

Visa types

  • Visa-free tourist entry: automatic upon arrival for stays of up to 30 days, no application needed in advance
  • Extended visa-free stays are not available beyond 30 days without applying for a visa extension in-country
  • Business visitors attending meetings or conferences can generally use the same 30-day visa-free entry, provided no local employment is involved
  • Longer stays (over 30 days), work, or study require a separate visa applied for through the Philippine Embassy in Nairobi or the nearest Philippine mission before travel

Entry conditions

  • Kenyan travelers are admitted for up to 30 days per visit without a pre-arranged visa
  • No local employment or paid work is permitted under visa-free entry
  • On arrival, immigration officers may ask to see your return ticket and proof of funds — have these ready
  • A departure/arrival card may need to be completed at the airport, either on paper or via the Philippines' online eTravel registration system before landing
  • Extensions of stay (typically in 29-59 day increments) can be obtained from the Philippine Bureau of Immigration for a fee, allowing a total stay of up to 36 months in some cases
  • Overstaying without an extension results in fines and possible blacklisting from future entry

Fees & processing time

  • No visa fee applies for the initial 30-day visa-free stay
  • eTravel online arrival registration (if required at time of travel) is free and takes only a few minutes
  • If extending your stay in-country, the Bureau of Immigration charges approximately PHP 3,000-4,000 (roughly USD 50-70) per extension application, plus a small express/legal research fee
  • Extension processing at a Bureau of Immigration office typically takes same-day to a few working days
  • No consular processing time applies since no visa application is needed before travel

Tips for Kenya travelers

  • Complete the Philippines' eTravel online registration shortly before departure if it is required at the time of your trip — check the latest requirement before flying
  • Carry a printed hotel booking and return ticket, since Kenyan passport holders occasionally face extra questioning on visa-free routes
  • Keep your arrival stamp visible and note the exact stay period granted, since immigration officers sometimes grant fewer than the maximum 30 days
  • If you plan to stay longer or travel further within the region, arrange your extension at a Bureau of Immigration office well before the initial stamp expires
  • No Yellow Fever certificate is required for travelers arriving from Kenya on direct routes, but check if you are transiting through a country with a Yellow Fever requirement
  • Register with the Kenyan Embassy in Manila if staying for an extended period
