Mozambique Visa for Kenya Citizens 2026

Visa on Arrival

Kenyan citizens can obtain a visa on arrival at major Mozambican entry points, or apply in advance through Mozambique's online eVisa system for a smoother, faster process.

Guide last updated September 25, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended stay, with at least one blank page
  • Visa on arrival application form, completed at the airport/border immigration desk, or the equivalent online eVisa form if applying in advance
  • Return or onward ticket
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or invitation letter)
  • Proof of sufficient funds for the stay
  • One passport-size photo (recent, white background)
  • Biometrics: fingerprints and photo captured at the immigration counter on arrival
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate, mandatory for travelers arriving from Kenya

Visa types

  • Single Entry Tourist Visa: on arrival or via eVisa, valid for stays up to 30 days, fee approx. USD 50-82 depending on entry point and processing route
  • Business Visa: similar validity, requires an invitation letter from a Mozambican company, fee comparable to the tourist visa
  • Multiple Entry Visa: available for frequent travelers, higher fee, usually arranged in advance via eVisa or the nearest Mozambican mission

Visa on arrival

  • Available at Maputo International Airport and other major official ports of entry for Kenyan passport holders
  • Present your passport, yellow fever certificate, return ticket, and accommodation proof at the immigration desk
  • Complete the arrival form and pay the visa fee in USD cash or by card where accepted
  • Processing typically takes 30-60 minutes depending on queue length and the port of entry
  • Alternatively, apply in advance via the official Mozambique eVisa portal (evisa.gov.mz) to receive pre-approval and reduce time spent at the airport counter

Fees & processing time

  • Visa on arrival fee: approximately USD 50-82 depending on entry type and port, payable in cash or card
  • eVisa fee (if applied online in advance): similar range, plus no additional service fee since it is a government-run portal
  • Processing at the airport: 30-60 minutes
  • eVisa online processing: typically 3-5 working days from submission

Tips for Kenya travelers

  • Consider applying via the eVisa portal in advance if traveling during busy periods, to avoid long queues at the airport visa-on-arrival counter
  • Carry the exact visa fee in USD cash as a backup, since card payment facilities can be inconsistent at some entry points
  • Ensure your yellow fever certificate is valid and easily accessible, as it is checked alongside the visa
  • Keep printed copies of your hotel booking and invitation letter (if applicable) to speed up processing
  • If entering by land border from a neighboring country, confirm that visa on arrival is available at that specific crossing, as availability can vary by post
