Guide last updated September 25, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry, with at least 2 blank pages
  • Completed online e-visa application form
  • Digital passport-size photo
  • Scanned bio-data page of the passport
  • Confirmed hotel booking or invitation letter
  • Return or onward flight ticket
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate (mandatory for entry from Kenya)
  • Biometrics: fingerprints and photo captured on arrival at Roberts International Airport

Visa types

  • Tourist e-visa — single entry, valid for 30 days, fee approximately USD 100
  • Business e-visa — single entry, valid for 30 days, requires a company invitation letter, fee approximately USD 100-130
  • Multiple-entry visa — for frequent travelers, arranged through the Liberian embassy directly, higher fee and longer processing

How to apply online

  • Submit the e-visa application and required documents through the Liberian embassy's online portal (accessible via liberiaembassyindia.org, which processes visas for several regions without a local Liberian mission)
  • Upload your passport photo, scanned passport page, and travel documents
  • Pay the e-visa fee online by card
  • Processing typically takes 3-5 business days
  • Approval is emailed as a PDF to print and present at check-in and on arrival, alongside your passport and yellow fever certificate

Fees & processing time

  • E-visa fee: approximately USD 100 for a single-entry tourist visa
  • No separate VFS fee if applying directly through the embassy portal
  • Total estimated cost: USD 100-130 depending on visa type
  • Standard processing: 3-5 business days
  • Expedited processing may be available for an extra fee — confirm directly with the embassy handling your application

Tips for Kenya travelers

  • Apply at least 2 weeks before travel to allow for processing and any follow-up document requests
  • Common rejection reasons: missing yellow fever certificate, unclear invitation letter, mismatched personal details
  • Since Kenya has no Liberian embassy, confirm which regional mission currently processes Kenyan applications before submitting
  • Carry both a printed and digital copy of your approved e-visa when traveling
  • Extensions can be requested at the Liberia Immigration Service in Monrovia before the 30-day validity expires
