Kosovo Visa for Kenya Citizens 2026

Visa Required

Kenyan citizens need a visa to enter Kosovo — apply through Kosovo's Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the nearest Kosovo diplomatic mission, since Kenya has no Kosovo embassy; fee around EUR 50-60, processing 10-15 working days.

Guide last updated September 25, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 3 months beyond your planned stay, with at least 2 blank pages
  • Completed Kosovo visa application form
  • Two recent passport-size photos (35x45mm, white background)
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or invitation letter)
  • Return or onward flight ticket
  • Proof of sufficient funds (bank statement, roughly EUR 50 per day of stay)
  • Travel health insurance covering at least EUR 30,000
  • Biometrics: fingerprints and photo taken at application, usually at the nearest Kosovo embassy or via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs authorization process

Visa types

  • Type C short-stay visa (Tourist) — single or multiple entry, valid up to 90 days within a 180-day period, fee approximately EUR 50
  • Type C Business visa — for meetings and conferences, similar validity, fee approximately EUR 60
  • Type D long-stay visa — for work, study, or family reunification, validity over 90 days, requires a residence permit application in Kosovo

How to apply

  • Since Kenya has no Kosovo embassy, apply through Kosovo's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (mfa-ks.net) for prior authorization, or through the nearest Kosovo embassy/consulate (e.g. in Ankara, Cairo, or Addis Ababa)
  • Submit the application form with all supporting documents in person or via the assigned diplomatic mission
  • Pay the visa fee in EUR by bank transfer or at the mission's cashier
  • Standard processing takes 10-15 working days; some applicants report longer waits due to headquarters review in Pristina
  • No formal express service; approvals are communicated by letter, which must be presented on arrival at Pristina International Airport

Fees & processing time

  • Visa fee: approximately EUR 50-60 (about USD 55-65)
  • No separate VFS/BLS service fee — applications go directly to the embassy or MFA
  • Total estimated cost: USD 55-65 plus courier/travel costs to the nearest mission
  • Standard processing: 10-15 working days
  • No official express option; build in extra buffer time given the limited diplomatic network

Tips for Kenya travelers

  • Apply at least 4-6 weeks before travel, since Kenya has no local Kosovo mission and applications route through a third country or the MFA in Pristina
  • Common rejection reasons: insufficient proof of funds, unclear travel itinerary, missing invitation letter for business travel
  • Contact the Kosovo Ministry of Foreign Affairs directly (mfa-ks.net) to confirm which regional embassy handles Kenyan applications, as this can change
  • Extensions beyond 90 days require applying to Kosovo's Department of Citizenship, Asylum and Migration before the visa expires
  • Check current travel advisories, as Kosovo's limited diplomatic network can affect connecting flight visa requirements
