Guide last updated September 25, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry, with at least 2 blank pages
  • Digital passport photo uploaded during the online application
  • Scanned copy of the passport bio-data page
  • Return or onward flight ticket
  • Proof of accommodation for the stay
  • Sufficient funds for the trip (may be requested at immigration)
  • No biometrics required for the e-Visa itself; standard immigration checks apply on arrival

Visa types

  • e-Visa Short Stay: single entry, up to 90 days, fee approx. USD 73, the standard option for tourism and business
  • e-Visa Multiple Entry: available for frequent travelers, higher fee, valid up to 1 year depending on category
  • Regular sticker visa: available at the Ivorian Embassy for categories not covered online, such as long-stay work or study visas
  • Transit visa: for onward travel through Abidjan, arranged case by case

How to apply online

  • Register and apply at the official e-Visa portal (snedai.ci)
  • Upload the passport bio-page scan and a recent digital photo
  • Pay the fee online by credit/debit card
  • Approval is sent by email as a PDF authorization; print it and present it with the passport at check-in and on arrival at Felix Houphouet-Boigny International Airport or other entry points
  • Confirm the authorization before booking non-refundable travel

Fees & processing time

  • e-Visa fee: approximately USD 73, inclusive of the online processing charge
  • No additional service center fee since the process is entirely online
  • Standard processing time: 48-72 hours
  • Express review is not typically offered separately; apply at least a week before travel to allow for any delays
  • On-arrival verification of the e-Visa is quick, generally under 15 minutes

Tips for Kenya travelers

  • Apply online well before departure since airlines will check for a valid e-Visa authorization before boarding
  • Common rejection reasons: mismatched passport details, low-quality photo uploads, or incomplete trip information
  • Carry both a printed and digital copy of the approved e-Visa for check-in and immigration
  • French is the official language in Ivory Coast - having key documents translated or a basic French phrasebook can help at the border
  • Extensions beyond the granted validity require an in-person application to Ivorian immigration authorities before the authorization expires
