Guide last updated September 25, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry, with at least 2 blank pages
  • Completed visa application form
  • Recent passport-size photo, 35x45mm, white background
  • Proof of accommodation and a detailed travel itinerary
  • Return or onward flight ticket
  • Bank statements for the last 3 months showing sufficient funds
  • Invitation letter if visiting family, friends, or for religious/business purposes
  • Biometrics may be requested at the mission handling Kenyan applications, since Israel does not have a resident embassy processing all cases directly in Nairobi

Visa types

  • B/2 Tourist Visa: single or multiple entry, up to 90 days, fee approx. USD 25-50
  • B/1 Work Visa: requires a sponsoring employer and work permit approval in advance
  • A/2 Student Visa: requires acceptance from a recognized Israeli institution
  • Transit visa: for short layovers requiring an airside or landside transit, arranged case by case

How to apply online

  • Check with the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs portal (gov.il) or the designated regional mission for Kenyan applicants, since processing may be centralized through a neighboring country's Israeli embassy
  • Complete the application form and gather supporting documents
  • Submit in person or via the mission's designated channel, along with the visa fee
  • Approval is stamped in the passport or issued as a linked authorization; some categories may be processed as an electronic pre-approval before travel
  • Confirm current submission requirements directly with the mission, as procedures for Kenyan applicants can change

Fees & processing time

  • Visa fee: approximately USD 25-50 depending on visa category and number of entries
  • Additional handling or courier fee if the application is routed through a regional mission: approx. USD 20-30
  • Standard processing time: 5-10 business days for a complete application
  • Processing may extend to several weeks if the application is referred to Jerusalem for additional review
  • No guaranteed express service; apply well ahead of the planned travel date

Tips for Kenya travelers

  • Confirm the current designated mission handling Kenyan applications before starting, since Israel's regional representation arrangements can change
  • Common rejection reasons: unclear purpose of visit, insufficient funds, or an itinerary that raises immigration concerns
  • Security screening for Israel can be more detailed than other destinations - be prepared for additional questions about the trip
  • Carry printed proof of accommodation and return tickets to present both at the mission and again on arrival
  • Extensions of a B/2 tourist visa can sometimes be requested at the Population and Immigration Authority inside Israel before the visa expires
