El Salvador Visa for Kenya Citizens 2026

e-Visa / eTA

Kenyan citizens need an e-visa for El Salvador, applied for online through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' portal — fee around USD 50, processing 3-5 business days.

Guide last updated September 24, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry, scanned in full colour
  • Digital passport-size photo, white background
  • Proof of onward or return travel (flight itinerary)
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or host's address)
  • Bank statements for the last 3 months showing sufficient funds
  • Travel/medical insurance covering your stay is recommended
  • No biometrics required at the e-visa application stage; standard immigration checks apply on arrival

Visa types

  • Tourist e-Visa — single entry, valid for a stay of up to 90 days
  • Business e-Visa — for meetings and short commercial activity, requires a company invitation/letter of purpose
  • CA-4 regional access — once admitted to El Salvador on a valid visa, travelers can generally move freely within the CA-4 region (Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua) for the duration of their authorized stay without a separate visa for each country
  • Longer-stay and residence categories require a separate application, not the standard e-visa

How to apply online

  • Apply through El Salvador's official online visa portal (visas.rree.gob.sv)
  • Register, complete the application form, and upload your passport scan, photo, and supporting documents
  • Pay the e-visa fee online by credit/debit card in USD
  • Applications are reviewed remotely; no in-person interview is normally required for standard tourist cases
  • Once approved, the e-visa is issued electronically (PDF) — print and carry a copy with your passport
  • Present the printed e-visa and passport to immigration on arrival for entry stamping

Fees & processing time

  • E-visa fee: approximately USD 50 for a standard single-entry tourist e-visa
  • No separate agency/service fee since the application is submitted directly through the government portal
  • Standard processing time: 3-5 business days from a complete submission
  • Processing can take longer if additional documents are requested
  • No official express/priority option currently advertised for this e-visa category

Tips for Kenya travelers

  • Apply at least 2-3 weeks before travel to allow for processing plus any follow-up document requests
  • Common delay reasons: unclear or low-quality document scans, and insufficient proof of funds relative to trip length
  • Double-check current fees and required documents on the official portal, as Central American e-visa rules are periodically updated
  • Keep both digital and printed copies of your approved e-visa for the airline check-in desk and immigration
  • El Salvador has no embassy in Kenya, so all correspondence is online — respond quickly to any request for extra documents to avoid delays
