Dominica Visa for Kenya Citizens 2026

Visa Free

Kenyan citizens can enter Dominica visa-free for stays of up to 180 days (6 months) — just a valid passport and proof of onward travel are needed.

Guide last updated September 24, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for the full duration of your intended stay in Dominica
  • Proof of onward or return travel (confirmed flight ticket)
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking, vacation rental confirmation, or host address)
  • Evidence of sufficient funds to support your stay
  • No visa, application form, or biometrics are required for entry
  • Travel health/medical insurance is recommended but not mandatory for entry

Visa types

  • No visa is required — Kenyan citizens are granted visa-free entry as visitors for up to 180 days per visit
  • This visa-free allowance covers tourism, family visits, and short business trips (meetings, conferences); it does not permit local employment
  • Anyone wishing to work, study long-term, or reside in Dominica must apply for the relevant work/residence permit before travel

Entry conditions

  • Visa-free stay of up to 180 days per entry as determined by the immigration officer at the port of entry
  • No paid employment with a Dominican employer is allowed on visa-free status; remote work for a foreign employer is generally tolerated
  • On arrival, present your passport, onward ticket, and accommodation details at Douglas-Charles Airport (DOM) or Canefield Airport (DCF) immigration
  • Extensions beyond the initial stay granted on arrival can be requested at the Immigration Division in Roseau before the authorized period expires
  • Officers have discretion to grant a shorter period than 180 days depending on your stated purpose and return ticket dates

Fees & processing time

  • No visa fee applies since Kenyan citizens enter visa-free
  • No advance processing time — entry is decided at the immigration desk on arrival
  • If an extension is needed, the Immigration Division in Roseau charges a modest local fee (payable in East Caribbean Dollars) and typically processes same-day to a few working days
  • No service fees since there is no visa application to submit in advance

Tips for Kenya travelers

  • Even though no visa is needed, carry proof of a return/onward ticket and accommodation — immigration officers can and do ask for these at the counter
  • Show reasonable funds for your trip length; officers may question travelers who appear to be arriving with an open-ended stay and minimal funds
  • If your plans might extend past 180 days, apply for an extension at the Immigration Division in Roseau well before your authorized stay expires rather than overstaying
  • Dominica has no Kenyan diplomatic mission, so for anything beyond straightforward tourism (work, residence), plan through Dominica's Ministry of Foreign Affairs directly
  • Keep a copy of your passport bio page and entry stamp separately in case of loss, since there is no visa sticker/reference number to fall back on
