  • Digital passport-style photo, recent, white background, uploaded during the online application
  • Scanned copy of the passport bio page
  • Confirmed return/onward flight ticket
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or invitation letter if visiting a host)
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate (mandatory - Cameroon requires this for all arriving travelers)
  • Biometrics: fingerprints and photo taken on arrival at the port of entry, not during the online application
  • Travel health insurance: recommended

Visa types

  • Short-stay tourist e-Visa: single entry, valid for use within 90 days of issue, max stay 90 days, fee approx. 50,000 XAF (about USD 85)
  • Business e-Visa: single or multiple entry, same 90-day validity window, requires an invitation letter from a Cameroonian company, fee approx. 50,000-75,000 XAF depending on entries
  • Multiple-entry e-Visa: available for frequent business travelers, valid up to 6 months, higher fee (~75,000-100,000 XAF)

How to apply online

  • Apply through the official Cameroon e-Visa portal linked from prc.cm; create an account, complete the form and upload required documents
  • Pay the fee online by debit/credit card in local currency equivalent (approx. USD 85 for the tourist e-Visa)
  • Standard processing time is about 72 hours (3 working days); allow up to 5 working days during busy periods
  • Approval is sent by email as a PDF - print it and present it with your passport at check-in and on arrival, where biometrics are captured

Fees & processing time

  • Tourist e-Visa fee: approx. 50,000 XAF (~USD 85), paid online by card
  • Business e-Visa fee: approx. 50,000-100,000 XAF (~USD 85-170) depending on single/multiple entry
  • No separate VFS/BLS service fee - the portal is run directly by the Cameroonian government
  • Standard processing: 72 hours; there is no official express option, so apply at least a week before travel

Tips for Kenya travelers

  • Book the yellow fever vaccination well in advance - missing this certificate is one of the most common reasons Kenyan travelers are denied boarding by airlines
  • Double-check the spelling of your name and passport number on the e-Visa application, since mismatches cause delays at the border
  • Keep both a printed and digital copy of the e-Visa approval and the yellow fever certificate
  • Extensions of stay must be arranged with the Delegation Générale à la Sûreté Nationale in Yaoundé or Douala before the visa expires
  • There is no Cameroonian embassy in Nairobi, so the e-Visa route is the practical option for most Kenyan travelers
