What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended stay, with blank pages
  • Completed Belize visa application form
  • 2 recent passport-size photos
  • Confirmed round-trip flight itinerary
  • Proof of accommodation in Belize
  • Bank statement showing sufficient funds for your stay
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate (required as Kenya is a yellow fever endemic country)
  • Police clearance certificate (sometimes requested for longer stays)

Visa types

  • Single-entry tourist visa: up to 30 days, fee approximately USD 50
  • Multiple-entry visa: for frequent travelers or business visitors, fee approximately USD 100, validity up to 1 year
  • Business visa: requires an invitation letter from a Belizean company or organization

How to apply

  • Belize has no embassy or consulate in Kenya, so applications are submitted directly to the Belize Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Belmopan or the nearest Belizean/British diplomatic mission handling Belizean affairs
  • Download the application form from the Belize government portal, complete it, and courier it with your passport and supporting documents
  • Pay the visa fee via bank transfer or the payment method specified by the mission
  • Await return of your passport with the visa affixed by courier before booking non-refundable flights

Fees & processing time

  • Single-entry visa fee: approximately USD 50
  • Multiple-entry visa fee: approximately USD 100
  • Courier costs to and from the processing mission: additional and payable by the applicant
  • Standard processing time: 2-4 weeks, given remote processing
  • No expedited service generally available for mail-in applications

Tips for Kenya travelers

  • Start the application at least 6 weeks before travel due to mailing/courier time and the lack of a local mission
  • Common rejection reasons: incomplete documentation, unclear travel purpose, insufficient funds
  • Keep tracking numbers for all couriered documents and confirm receipt with the mission
  • Extensions of stay can be obtained from the Belize Immigration Department in Belmopan after arrival
