What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended stay
  • Completed visa application (online via the Armenian e-visa system, or the paper form at an embassy)
  • Recent digital passport-style photo
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking) and travel itinerary
  • Proof of sufficient funds
  • Return/onward flight ticket
  • Biometrics not required for the standard e-visa; may be requested if applying in person at an embassy
  • Travel health insurance is recommended

Visa types

  • Tourist/ordinary visa (21-day): single entry, low validity option for short trips
  • Tourist/ordinary visa (120-day): single or multiple entry, for longer or repeat visits within the year
  • Business visa: requires an invitation letter from an Armenian company or organization
  • Official/diplomatic visa: for government or diplomatic personnel, requires formal accreditation

How to apply

  • Apply online through Armenia's e-visa portal at evisa.mfa.am by creating an account and completing the application
  • Upload passport bio page, photo, and travel details; pay the visa fee online by card
  • Alternatively, apply in person at the nearest Armenian embassy or honorary consulate
  • Standard e-visa processing takes 3-10 working days; approval is emailed as a document to print
  • Present the printed e-visa and passport to immigration on arrival

Fees & processing time

  • 21-day visa: approximately USD 30
  • 120-day visa: approximately USD 60
  • Standard e-visa processing: 3-10 working days
  • Express processing (where offered): 2-3 working days for an additional fee
  • No separate service fee beyond the standard visa cost when applying via the e-visa portal

Tips for Kenya travelers

  • Apply at least 2-3 weeks before travel to allow for standard e-visa processing
  • Common rejection reasons include blurry photo uploads and mismatched passport/booking details
  • Choose the visa validity (21-day vs 120-day) based on your planned length of stay to avoid overstaying
  • Keep a printed copy of the e-visa approval, as connectivity at the border can be limited
  • Extensions inside Armenia are handled by the Migration Service and should be requested before the visa's validity ends
