Albania Visa for Kenya Citizens 2026

e-Visa / eTA

Kenyan citizens need an e-Visa for Albania, applied for online in advance; short-stay tourist e-Visas typically cost around EUR 50-60 and take 3-10 working days to process.

Guide last updated September 24, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended departure from Albania
  • Completed online e-Visa application with a digital passport-style photo
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking) for the full stay
  • Return or onward flight ticket
  • Proof of sufficient funds (bank statement)
  • Travel/medical insurance covering the Schengen area is recommended, though Albania is not yet a full Schengen member
  • Biometrics are not required for the e-Visa; they may be requested only if applying in person at a consulate

Visa types

  • Tourist e-Visa: single entry, up to 90 days within a 180-day period, fee approx. EUR 50
  • Business e-Visa: single or multiple entry, requires an invitation letter from an Albanian company, fee approx. EUR 60
  • Transit e-Visa: for onward travel through Albania, shorter validity and lower fee

How to apply online

  • Apply via the official Albanian e-Visa/e-Albania portal (e-albania.al)
  • Create an account, complete the application form, and upload passport bio page, photo, and supporting documents
  • Pay the visa fee online by credit/debit card
  • Standard processing takes 3-10 working days; approval is sent by email as a PDF to print and carry
  • Present the printed e-Visa approval along with your passport on arrival

Fees & processing time

  • Tourist e-Visa: approximately EUR 50 (~USD 54)
  • Business e-Visa: approximately EUR 60 (~USD 65)
  • Standard processing: 3-10 working days
  • Expedited processing (where offered): 1-3 working days for an additional fee of roughly EUR 20-30
  • No separate VFS/BLS service fee, as the e-Visa is handled directly through the government portal

Tips for Kenya travelers

  • Apply at least 2 weeks before travel to allow for standard processing and any requests for additional documents
  • Common rejection reasons include mismatched names between the booking and passport, and insufficient proof of funds
  • Double-check the validity dates on your approved e-Visa against your actual travel dates before departure
  • Keep both a digital and printed copy of the e-Visa approval for airline check-in and border control
  • Extensions beyond 90 days generally require leaving and re-applying, as Albania does not routinely grant in-country extensions for tourists
