What you need

  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate (mandatory for entry)

  • Tourist e-Visa: single entry, valid for a stay of up to 30 days, fee approx USD 80
  • Business e-Visa: single or multiple entry, requires an invitation letter from a Sierra Leonean host organization
  • Multiple-entry e-Visa: available for frequent business travelers at a higher fee, valid up to 90 days

How to apply online

  • Visit the official Sierra Leone eVisa portal (ecitizen.gov.sl)
  • Create an account and complete the application with passport and travel details
  • Upload your passport bio page, photo, yellow fever certificate, and accommodation proof
  • Pay the eVisa fee online by credit or debit card
  • Processing typically takes 3-5 business days; the approved eVisa is sent by email as a PDF
  • Print the approval and present it with your passport on arrival at Freetown's Lungi International Airport

  • No separate consulate fee since there is no Sierra Leone mission in Hong Kong
