What you need

  • Proof of accommodation (hotel reservation or host invitation letter)
  • Proof of sufficient funds for the trip
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate (mandatory for all travelers to Senegal)
  • Travel insurance covering medical evacuation is recommended

Visa types

  • Short-stay tourist visa: single or multiple entry, valid up to 90 days, fee approx XOF 50,000
  • Business visa: requires an invitation letter from a Senegalese company or organization
  • Long-stay visa: for stays beyond 90 days, requires supporting documentation and is processed at a Senegalese diplomatic mission

How to apply

  • Submit the application through the official Senegal e-visa portal at visasenegal.sn
  • Upload passport bio page, photo, yellow fever certificate, and accommodation proof
  • Pay the visa fee online by credit card
  • Since there is no Senegalese consulate in Hong Kong, the e-visa route is the only practical option for Hong Kong SAR passport holders
  • Processing normally takes 3-5 business days; approval is sent by email and should be printed for presentation on arrival
